A simple one-bedroom house set in a bushfire prone area at Broken Head, south of Byron Bay.
Building in a bushfire prone area adds a layer of compliance most projects never encounter — the design has to satisfy the relevant Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) requirements before a Construction Certificate can be issued, on top of the usual National Construction Code and development consent conditions.
What we did
We undertook a full DA checklist against the development consent, identified the outstanding items, and issued the Construction Certificate once every item had been addressed by the architect and builder.
From there we carried out all mandatory critical stage inspections through the build, and issued the Occupation Certificate on completion.
Certifying a Project Like This
We certify residential building work across the Northern Rivers from Construction Certificate through to Occupation Certificate — see private certification for how the process runs, or all projects for more examples.
